Hell's Bells it's Sunday already

G'morning! It's Sunday, so time for a little week in review. Photos from our adventures below. In short: Went to an AC/DC concert at Madison Square Garden on Wed night (compliments of my Sony contact at work, thx Ryan!) I'm pretty sure we saw 70% of Jersey that night but good times none the less and lots of devil horns and fist thumping... then we hit the New Museum yesterday and saw Elizabeth Peyton's exhibit which was reminiscent of my adolescence and college days. Loads of oil paintings of cultural icons like Queen Elizabeth, but mostly pop cultural stuff like Liam G. of Oasis, Jarvis Cocker, Sid Vicious, etc etc and of course Kurt Cobain. We can't see to get away from Seattle I guess. It was a nice feeling. We also saw a really interesting video projection that was soundtracked by Seattle noise rock group Kinski. Pretty neat stuff. And to add to all the rockness, we went further into the Bowery to find that the old CBGBs venue had been turned into an upscale clothing boutique. What once was a piss stained venue where Blondie and the Ramones hung out at, is now a sleek John Varvatos store. But don't get upset so fast, John Varvatos used to dress Iggy Pop and the concept of the store is totally inspired by the venue. All rock n roll. Some of the orig. venue posters still hang, and they sell old records to boot. Framed photographs of Blondie and the Ramones hang the walls so in a way, it's like a CBGBs museum. Just with some very expensive clothes !

Next up: William Eggleston photo exhibit at the Whitney. I'm hoping that we'll see this next weekend or over Thanksgiving... keep u posted.
